Muthathi - A lung space in the vicinity of Bangalore

Though Bangalore has become a lung space for the CO2 breathers, it is sad that they are being cut out from accessing. This is reference to the God-forbidden trees and plants! If not for these damned creation Earth would have been such a wonderful and lonely place. Check out the other planets and the galaxy in general and feel what lonely is all about.

Well, though Bangalore is strong in its quest to replicate Mars and Jupiter and what not, there are still places around it for the O2 users. The stupid greenery hits you the time you enter Kanakapura Road from the NICE road. It is sickening greens all round you. Why do we need all those trees? Yuck!!!

It's a good road right up to Kanakapura. Well have you seen flowing water within Bangalore, I mean a stream or a rivulet ... no, no ... not the drain ... well you see a river flowing in all its glory just when about to enter Kanakapura. Which river? God alone knows, it's a river alright. Could be Cauvery, could be Arkavati. Well I'm not here to give you all the right facts. No geographer me!

You can revisit the past ... like how things were when it was only mud roads and pathways and such when you enter Kanakapura. The government has been able to guard the past in a very protective and successful way. People really need to know life in the past and the value of good roads. Thank you government, if not for you we would not have known the importance of roads. Cheers! Keep up the good work. Keep roads inside Kanakapura as is! Curse be upon any administrator who wants to think of changing the past and wipe Kanakapura of its present glory. Let them rot!

Well once out of Kanakapura, the roads change for the better, strangely!

Ok you keep going ... all kinds of villages keep showing up now and then. You would see people idling around as you pass. Keep going ... yes ... keep going. Once you have gone a full length and a feeling of being lost seeps into you, start looking out for signboards and then they would start to show.

Take the left when it says Muthathi. It's one straight road there on.

Well I can not tell you much about what you get at Muthathi ... well ... I had another 10 kms to cover before Muthathi would reveal herself and then I glanced at my watch which indicated 15 minutes past 5 pm.

The surroundings appeared creepy, of course … there is this mountain looming above you … then there are those wild trees growing all over … like … like … buildings in Bangalore … as you see buildings all over … there are only trees here … it makes you nervous … seeing all those trees in one go … then … there were revelers ... there were cattle being herded back ... there was a pair of men in Khaki canes in hand ... no not the police ... forest guards perhaps ... there was a worn down Maruthi 800 with bottles and glasses arranged above it and all the doors thrown open with pot bellied jerks guarding each of the exit glasses of yellowish fluid in hand, pineapple juice perhaps :-)… there was a carrier-auto going towards Muthathi with a load of men in banian bundled together and who sat squatting playing some wicked game of cards or whatever it seemed ... well most of all visitors were on their return, not many were towards Muthathi ... indications that it may perhaps not a place to visit beyond nightfall!

To add to all the scrap ... there was no signal on my Airtel SIM. Forest range perhaps!!

Well I took a U-turn and that ends the Muthathi episode.

Moral of the story: Muthathi best visited during the afternoon.

Muthathi is were Cauvery and Arkavati meets. Its a sight to see! Well I would get to see it the next time I reach there on time!

Well ... on searching the net ... this travelogue gave me an insight into what I missed at Muthathi - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travelogues/63830-day-trip-muthathi.html
